Abyss of the Self

In this solo journaling RPG, you embark on an introspective journey through eight stages of isolation and revelation. Each stage of the game aligns with a suit from the Tarot's Minor Arcana—Wands, Cups, Swords, and Pentacles—invoking unique scenarios that push you deeper into a nightmare realm, confronting you with both the surreal and the terrifying. As you navigate this desolate world, you are tasked to interpret and respond to these scenarios in your journal, chronicling your experiences, emotions, and transformations.

Your journey is influenced by drawing from two distinct Tarot card decks: the Scenario Deck and the Isolation Deck. Each card drawn prompts you to explore a new aspect of your solitude, steering the narrative and coloring your experiences with a different hue of horror. The game progresses through cyclical gameplay phases—Exploration, Encounter, and Reflection—culminating in a final drawing from the Major Arcana, determining your character's fate as you emerge from the enigma of isolation.
