Patching the Cosmos

In Patching the Cosmos, you play as a Deviant Universal Engineer (DUE), an entity working for the mysterious Origin Entity that created the universe. Your role is to subtly modify aspects of the universe, fixing issues, and implementing patches and updates. Your actions, in turn, generate feedback from the countless life forms that inhabit reality.

Each game session involves rolling a set of dice to determine the scope, complexity, feedback, urgency, and an additional wildcard factor for the patch you need to develop and deploy. These dice rolls inform the narrative prompts you will then use to write your entry in the cosmic development log or "journal."

As the game progresses, your journal becomes a narrative of the evolving universe under your stewardship. The game becomes a history of triumphs, failures, and ongoing challenges faced by the DUE as they navigate their responsibilities.

This solo journaling RPG blends creativity, introspection, and imagination. It's a tool for storytelling, allowing players to explore narratives of cosmic proportions, the trials of otherworldly entities, and the joy and terror of creation and maintenance on an unfathomable scale.

It's a game where every roll of the dice can mean a new species, a cosmic cataclysm, or a subtle tweak in the fabric of reality that might just go unnoticed by its inhabitants but could be the only thing keeping the universe in balance. As a DUE, your job is to manage all these challenges while learning, growing, and understanding what it means to be a caretaker of the cosmos.
